distantDVD lets you browse and play ripped DVD's (in VIDEO_TS format), AVI's and MPEG's, either across a network or locally. All via a full screen home theater front end. You can choose to launch your movies in either VLC or the Apple DVD player.

Your ripped DVD folders (VIDEO_TS), or digital video files, can be on any computer, using any operating system, on your home network. If you can mount the drive you can use distantDVD to play that film!

On running distantDVD you will be asked to choose the locations of your stored VIDEO_TS folders and digital media. Just select the folders containing the DVDs and set your preferences! You are now ready to play your DVD media from anywhere on your network just by pressing space whilst browsing the cover art!
